Junior Leadership Team – Year 6
Junior Leadership Team members for this year are:-

Responsible to: Miss Smith
What you’ll do:
• Meet with Miss Smith during the year to look at the School Development Plan.
• Think about how well our school is doing and come up with ideas for improvement.
• Write an Action Plan to share pupils’ views.
• This year’s focus: belonging, safety, anti-racism and being upstanders.
• Speak to governors and advisors about our school.
• Help make school a happy, safe place for everyone.
To be successful, you need to:
• Be a role model in lessons and around school.
• Show empathy and value everyone’s opinion.
• Be polite, punctual, well-organised and well-mannered.
• Take neat notes in meetings.
• Be prepared to give up some break times for meetings or special tasks.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Good listening and reflection skills.
• Ability to share ideas for school improvement.
• Confident speaking with adults and children.
• Clear, neat writing for recording actions.
Assembly Leaders (Year 6 only)

• Lead parts of assemblies.
• Encourage singing and speaking with expression.
• Engage the audience with humour, confidence and clarity.
• Sometimes practise at break or lunchtime.

• Be organised and reliable.
• Be prepared to give up break times to rehearse.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Clear speaking voice and good expression.
• Knowledge of how to lead a group.
• Ability to use humour appropriately.
Eco Warriors – One child per class Y1-6
Our Eco Warriors this year are:-

Responsible to: Miss Whitaker
What you’ll do:
• Keep school grounds tidy and beautiful.
• Check classrooms for lights and recycling.
• Help with planting, watering and caring for plants.
• Manage a small plant budget across the year.
• Sometimes meet at lunchtime to plan eco-projects.
To be successful, you need to:
• Care about the environment and enjoy looking after it.
• Be responsible and reliable.
• Be prepared to give up some break times for meetings.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Understanding of recycling and saving energy.
• Basic gardening knowledge (watering, planting).
• Working well as part of a team.
Tour Guides - Year 5

Responsible to: Miss Smith
What you’ll do:
• Show visitors around school.
• Tell visitors what happens in our school.
• Ask visitors questions and share your thoughts with teachers afterwards.
• Sometimes you may be asked to miss part of a lesson or break to give a
tour. You may have to catch up in your own time.
To be successful, you need to:
• Be polite, confident and approachable.
• Speak clearly to adults and pupils.
• Be prepared to give up some break times.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Good knowledge of how our school runs.
• Ability to explain things clearly.
• Good questioning skills.
Reading Buddies - Year 4-6
Our Reading Buddies for this year are:-

Responsible to: Miss Chip & Miss Fox
What you’ll do:
• Support younger children with reading and phonics.
• Write in their reading journals.
• Be a kind role model who encourages a love of books.
• Read stories aloud for others to enjoy.
• Meet with Miss Chip and Miss Fox to share progress.
• Support children at lunchtimes and ensure fair play.
To be successful, you need to:
• Enjoy reading and helping others learn.
• Be patient, kind and encouraging.
• Be prepared to give up some break or lunchtime.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Good reading fluency and understanding of phonics.
• Ability to explain words and stories.
• Confident speaking and reading aloud.
• Good at including and supporting younger children.
School Council - Year 1 - 6. Two children per class.

What you’ll do:
• Meet regularly with Mrs Forbes.
• Plan fun school events (e.g. Christmas Fayre).
• Organise fundraising (cake sales, tuck shop, competitions).
• Share class opinions with the council.
• Sometimes meet at break or lunchtime.
To be successful, you need to:
• Be enthusiastic and full of ideas.
• Be fair and represent your class properly.
• Be prepared to give up some break times for meetings.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Good at listening to classmates’ ideas.
• Ability to plan and organise small events.
• Confident sharing ideas with a group.
Lunchtime Supervisors - Years 3 - 6

What you’ll do:
• Help from 11:50–12:05 to get the dining hall ready.
• Make sure tables are clean and welcoming.
• Support staff to make lunchtime run smoothly.
To be successful, you need to:
• Be punctual and responsible.
• Work quickly and sensibly.
• Be prepared to give up part of your lunchtime.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Good teamwork skills.
• Awareness of hygiene and tidiness.
Playground Buddies- Years 4 - 6
This year's Playground Buddies are:-

Responsible to: Mrs Rookes, Mrs Begum & Miss J Smith
What you’ll do:
• Support children at lunchtime to make sure everyone is happy.
• Help children join in games and make friends.
• Put away play equipment.
• Award YBN cards to children who play fairly.
To be successful, you need to:
• Be friendly and approachable.
• Be responsible and fair.
• Be prepared to give up part of your lunchtime to support others.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Good at helping others and sorting out small problems.
• Knowledge of playground games.
• Ability to encourage fair play and inclusion.
